Birth Integration Sessions

Somatic Focused Birth Integration

Birth integration sessions are a somatic, attachment-informed space to process your birth experience and support your nervous system through the postpartum period. Ideally work is done with mama, baby, and partner if available.

Birth changes us in ways that go beyond memory. You can understand exactly what happened and still find your body holding onto activation, shutdown, or protective responses that never quite integrated.

Somatic Birth Integration Coaching offers a gentle, structured space to work through your birth story. Through nervous system awareness, somatic practices, and reflective processing we work together to help you integrate your birth experience for your whole family. Sessions draw on attachment theory, perinatal neuroscience, and somatic resolution work for perinatal trauma, helping you feel more grounded, connected, and resourced as you look back on what happened. This work is especially important for those wanting to clear their prior birth experience before going into another.

This work may be a good fit if you:

  • Feel activated just thinking about your birth

  • Notice lingering stress, anxiety, or shutdown since your birth

  • Want to understand your nervous system's responses during birth or postpartum

  • Had a birth that was unexpected, intense, painful, or medically complex: cesarean, induction, a NICU stay

  • Had a birth where a provider violated your boundaries or coerced you into things you didn’t want

  • Want to feel back in your body after pregnancy and birth

  • Are looking for meaning-making and integration

What Sessions Look Like

We move slowly, following your nervous system's lead rather than a script. We bring together the positive, neutral, and challenging aspects of your birth. Together we find a way to find resolution or peace. Sessions might involve tracking body sensations, building your capacity for regulation, gently reflecting on your birth, or simply practicing holding the story without it overwhelming you.

The goal isn't to relive your birth. It's to help your system integrate the experience so that, over time, it feels less charged and more like part of your story rather than something still happening to you.

Birth Integration Coaching is a non-clinical service focused on education, reflection, and nervous system support. It is not psychotherapy and does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If you're experiencing significant distress, working with a licensed mental health provider may be a better fit.
